Net-A-Porter's Magazine

I probably visit Net-A-Porter's site everyday, even if I can't afford 90% of the clothing on it(though they have been stocking some great mid-priced lines lately). Besides clothing, they also have a little online magazine that has great inspirational images.

I'm in love with Olivia Palermo's cardigan in that picture, actually the whole outfit is spot on for me. 

 

I'm still working on finding the perfect trench, which Alexa Chung seems to have in abundance. I think I'm too fixated on it being vintage, and I need to broaden my search.

 

Mint Green Love

Mint green is my favorite color, and I'm so glad it is popping up for spring. Luckily, you can always count on finding 500 things in the same color at J.Crew.

Lucky Magazine: Winter Blooms

I've been holding off blogging about this editorial because it was in a new issue, but since Lucky has put it online, I thought I would post it now.  Which begs another question, but we'll save that for another time. I've been thinking about starting a day where we discuss topics in fashion and home. 

So back to this editorial, as Lady Gaga says, I love it. Not that flower prints or mixing patterns is new, but the size of the print and pattern tend to change, along with the general mood of the time. This one is more relaxed, with a quirkier feel.

There are actually several things I enjoyed in the February issue, like the Lucky Sexy guide(not tacky as the title may imply). It is more of a companion piece to their books, which shows real girl(though celebrity) style pictures mixed in. 

Side Note: How much does this model look like Keira Knightley?

 

I usually detest cork bottom shoes, but I might make an allowance for this Nine West pair. The 70's orange color looks great paired with thick grey tights.

 

Stripes mixed with flowers, reminds me of Biba. Oh, and I'll take the legs too, thanks!

 

 

The D&G rosebud pants are a bit twee, but I secretly love them.

 

More twee pants that recall tiny Liberty and calico prints.

 

This royal blue paired with coral combination is something I would like to play around with in my wardrobe.

Chanel Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2010

Oh, Chanel! How your shiny pretties called to this little bird's heart. What a beautiful palette! Bedazzled tulle, shots of metallic silver, wedding whites and blush pink.

 

Little dresses as sweet as cotton candy.

 

Oscar worthy? I could see Nicole Kidman in the dress on the left, and Cameron Diaz in the right.

 

Long or short, a froth of tulle always works for me.

Silver accents, from soft pewter roses to liquid metal stripes.

 

All in the details: Lucite jewelry and silver nail polish.

I didn't wear a veil my first time around, but when we renew our vows I might want something like this one. I don't think Mr.M will be wearing a silver suit though;)

Tavi's Big Bow

I'm enamored with the bow Stephen Jones gave to Tavi to wear to Paris Couture Week. All other quibbling aside, how could you not love pink feathers fashioned into the shape of a bow?

Fashion & Home: Black Lace

While lace is entirely romantic, it can also be very modern in the right setting. I've been slowly building up a vintage arsenal in my wardrobe, but new pieces haven't escaped my eye either.

Bring Spring

I feel the way model Caroline Winberg looks in this photo. Perhaps her look of stress is from leaving the house thinking she looked pretty and realizing too late you can see her underwear through the dress. We've all been there. 

I'm juggling my own balls of stress right now, but most of all I'm suffering from wanderlust. So ready for an adventure and new inspirations. I'm hoping I get some of my bounce back this weekend. We are going out of town to visit my grandmother and cuddle a barrel of monkeys that always brighten my day with their little gems.

Oh, and as for the outfit above, I love it minus the peekaboo undies. Spring, please get here soon!

Style Inspiration: Mad About You Part II

So what was is on my "shake up my winter wardrobe" closet search?:

1. Colored tights, scarves and gloves

2. Vintage furs, coats with patterns and shorter sleeves

3. Gauzy slips to layer

4. Gum ball sized cocktail rings, ropes of necklaces, and feathers for my hair

5. Pull Mary Jane style shoes
