J.Crew November New Arrivals

J.Crew loaded some new arrivals on their site and there are a few pieces that caught my attention. 

*Oh, and whoa at seeing Erin Wasson in the catalog, has she been in there before? Quite a departure from her rocker/hippie everyday look.

I guess my latest obsession is menswear inspired pieces. Madewell Patent Leather Oxfords, $148

It is hard to find a black shirt, and I love the vintage inspired print on this one. Floral Fan Placket Perfect Shirt, $79.50

I'm sure these are going to be a love/hate item. I wish they were a true black, and I think I would get a lot more wear out of them next summer. Which is why they on my list. Silk Taffeta Belted Short, $118

 

As always I'm looking for the perfect army style jacket. This could be a contender. Boyfriend Fatigue Jacket, $148

They are comparing the design on this tee to 20's wallpaper(actually they compare a lot of stuff in this rollout to vintage wallpaper), but I just like the glittering curlicues. Something I'm going to have to see close up before I buy. Slub Cotton Beaded Florence Tee, $52

 

I love this outfit. Well, except for the shoes(and no, it isn't the socks, I actually like that current trend). Maybe I would like a chunkier Mary Jane style shoe with it?

One of my favorite J.Crew models and I love this outfit too. Plus, there is a gorgeous sofa thrown in for good measure.

Retail Stalking: Jessie Randall's vintage cork Lamp

   

Like everyone else, I flipped over Jessie Randall of Loeffler Randall's apartment featured in the September 2006 issue of Domino magazine.  One of the items to catch my eye was a vintage cork lamp to which she had pinned personal photos.  

We stopped at an indoor church rummage sale while pursuing the 127 yard sales. There wasn't much, but I stumbled across this vintage cork pen and notebook holder in perfect unused condition for $.25.  We are currently overhauling our home and I'm trying to pull my office together.  This is perfect for my desk and the collection of pens littering the top of it.

Retail Stalking: West Elm Cutout Pendant lamp

I keep a folder under my favorites titled Watching. I put in it all the links to the items that I'm in love with but don't need at the time or can't currently afford. As you can imagine this list gets very long and items get pushed back and forgotten. When I was cleaning out the folder last week I came across a link to the West Elm cutout pendant lamp.

It appeared to have been marked down and out of stock, so I called CS to inquire about the lamp. I was told it was sold out online and in store, and they would not be getting anymore in. It doesn't even show up online anymore.

When I attempted to add it to my cart it let me know that it would be backorderd to August 21.  I thought what the heck and put in an order, since they don't charge you until the item ships, which I figured it never would.  Guess what showed up on my doorstep this afternoon?

Not only that, but I had already half talked myself out of liking the lamp.  Could I make this myself? Also, we are stripping our house bare and starting over, and I'm not even sure what I'm going to do with it. But I love it, especially that the color is more off white than cream
