Golden Globes 2011: Leighton Meester in Burberry Pre-Fall 2011

 

Leighton Meester caught my eye on the red carpet as she looked like she was wearing some type of Victorian Bohemian confection come by way of the 1970's. I continued to fall harder for her look as I searched for up close images. Her Burberry dress looked so soft and pure next to the emerald green and shiny pink dresses fighting for space on the red carpet.

The single sparkling cuff, modern slit in the skirt, and divine Louis Vuitton gold bag sealed the deal as my favorite look of the night.

Chloë Sevigny-Vintage on the Beach

I want to steal a page out of Chloë Sevigny's style book and wear some romantic pieces on the beach. Have some vintage clothing on their last legs? Tattered pieces lend themselves well to allowing air to cool sun warmed skin.

Look of the Day: Natalie Portman in Lanvin for H&M

Natalie Portman wearing a Lanvin for H&M dress. This isn't the first time I've seen her showing support for a designer collaboration, as I remember her wearing a Rodarte for Target dress to another appearance.

I think her hair and makeup look amazing.

Our seasons here seem to go straight from steam bath heat to freezing, buttoned up to your nose cold. That glorious stretch of crisp yet sunny fall air filled with dazzling colors of gold and red squeezes in the middle for only a short time. This means taking a chance on pairing leather with bare arms and legs.

Look of the Day: Keira Knightley (Never Let Go)

 

I would actually prefer the skirt turned sideways, but the print is perfect, and how lovely is Keira's lace blouse? I'm also loving her new bob, especially as it seems to have grown out just a bit with some softness. But she has such a gorgeous face and sweet smile, not much she can do wrong.

So now we are going to swing from couture to highlighting cute everyday life clothing. I love cardigans and jackets that almost reach the hem of my dresses.

Review: Anthropologie Jet Stream Cardigan + Glee

I'm obsessed with cardigans and love oversized versions that you can cuddle up in. For summer I wanted something to wear over floaty feminine dresses with a bit of granny or grandpa chic thrown in. I haven't had much luck in thrift shops so I headed to the mall. 

Anthropologie's Jet Stream Cardigan fit my requirement for granny style. It has a hand made looking knit with a slouchy silhouette and pockets. I'm a little tired of all the open lapel cardigans Anthropologie has been churning out but at least this one isn't smothered by ruffles. 

Someone gave a review on the site saying the Sky color was similar to hospital scrubs. It does come close, but I love the vintage-y color and that is the one I came home with.

 

I also spotted it on Glee cutie Dianna Agron.
