I went to an estate sale this weekend that had such lovely things, especially pieces with openwork or embroidery. A gentleman that knew the couple said they had traveled frequently to Belgium and other parts of Europe. I could definitely see that influence throughout their home.
There was one room laden with linens, which is a dream come true for me. I normally have to pass on vintage blankets and sheets because of the size of our beds, but I'm always on the lookout for vintage pillowcases. I picked up my three favorite, but I wish I had bought more, especially as most still had their original tags on them!
I also found some made in Switzerland silk blouses, leather gloves with a lace like insert, vintage white pot holders, 1960's necklace and sweaters with exposed lace shoulders, and some black dresses that I'm happy I didn't pass up. I normally skip them, but two had such great detail that it made me take a closer look. The one above has a wool lace top scattered with tiny rhinestones. The bottom half fits tightly all the way down to right below the knee.
