I wanted to thank everyone again for leaving great recs for Chicago. I'd love to say I visited them all, but I didn't get to spend quality time anywhere because my schedule kept changing.
I did get to Barneys, where I tried on Celine's Oversized Audrey sunglasses for the 500th time, and reluctantly put them back for the 500th time. It takes me all of two seconds to lose something that costs $350 and can easily be taken off. Those $6 Forever 21 sunglasses? You can throw them out into the street and they come back to you like a boomerang.
In cosmetics I was deciding between Byredo Rose Noir perfume or their Peyote Poem candle—both have a deliciously dark scent—when I got distracted by the Serge Lutens display. Votre Sienne lipstick? That color is so good....bzzz bzzz. There goes my phone and I'm flying out the door promising to come back tomorrow.
I also attempted Andersonville. After getting off of my train stop I wondering up and down the street trying to find an address. Then I realized I had written down the stop for another store, and I was actually in Wicker park. Gah!
Informed that I would have to take a bus to the nearest train stop to even get to Andersonville, I hopped into taxi instead which wasn't the most brilliant idea. But I finally got there, and I hit up The Brown Elephant and then walked down further on Clark St. I decided to stop for lunch at Hopleaf, which was recommended by a friend. The mussels were delicious, but holy moly how good are their onion rings? Paper thin with a salty crunch.
I walked across the street and went into Brimfield first because their store front is adorable. Love that font! I was admiring their wall of vintage wool blankets when...bzzz bzzz. Are you kidding me? Nope. Out I go again and in a taxi on my way back to the Loop.
