I found the wool sweater at a local vintage store on the clearance rack this summer and snatched it up. It reminds me of something Doris Day would wear in a movie while hanging at a ski lodge, waiting for Rock Hudson to arrive.

I told Mr.M that if I ever received the Hermes Collier de Chien cuff as a gift that I would wear it everyday, and I've held pretty true to that promise.

*I'm already four outfits behind at my attempt to do a 30 day outfit challenge. I'm sure that number is going to get worse as we are leaving for Italy on Sunday, and I have no idea how well wifi is going to work at the hotel.

Window Shopping: Christmas at Chanel Paris

I'm wondering if any of the workers bother to take the displays home with them at the end of the season? I'm hoping those gorgeous paper Christmas trees don't end up in the trash.

A good display window can make you feel inspired, and I've now got some ideas for future decoration purposes. I would even love to put that lacy paper curtain up on my office wall.

Editorial: A Country Weekend in Lucky Magazine

 

The January issue of Lucky Magazine is mega slim, but it still has some beautiful bits inside that compelled me to buy it. One of those being this editorial-with its quirky(yet adorable) styling, chintzy florals and sweet fluffy sheep-that instantly transports me back to my days studying in England.

Instead of magazine worthy pictures of me romping in a field you get...another bathroom shot. Sexy.

I usually just sleep in Mr.M's Hanes tees but it came in handy one morning when I discovered I hadn't packed anything to wear under my vintage blazer. I can't seem to find anything in lower price lines that has the same look but the arms are fit for a girl(and the length just a tiny bit shorter). 

Most tees for women have odd cap sleeves, some dumb tiny pocket, a clingy knit that sticks to all the wrong places, and hits right above the belly button. 

So this post is really a plea thrown into the universe for mass retail to start producing a great cotton t-shirt.

I thought about doing one of those month long outfit challenges, but I don't think December is the best time to start it. Our home is currently dark at all hours of the day due to lack of windows and sitting at the bottom of a hill. I have a light on in every corner of the house but it makes for lousy pictures. I'm going to try though so we'll see how it works out.

This is my goodbye to this vintage dress, as I'm giving it to my friend L. I loaned it to her for a date that turned out to be lucky, and she'll do it more justice. I think it would be cute with a belt, which is a look that never sits where it should on me. It used to flow out to the top of my ankles, but it was a bit much with the pattern and cowl neck, so I had it hemmed.

If you have been reading my blog for a while you know that I have an obsession with vintage clutches. This one has never been used and has such a sweet shape to it.
