I get little frissons of anticipation when the couture runway season starts. I get these same butterflies/chills/heart palpitations whenever I'm watching anyone getting ready to put on a performance. It is amazing to watch someone excel outside the normal human abilities.
What a dream it must be to come to Paris and watch these works of art come down the runway.
This collection makes me think of Yves Saint Laurent's 1973 "rich peasant" collection. I'm sure saying this is blasphemy, especially if you believe the story about Karl Lagerfeld and YSL in The Beautiful Fall to be true. Though I'm not saying that this collection is the same or inspired by, but something of the same essence.
I'm loving the 70's style awkward length skirts and slouchy boots, even though I'm sure most will probably hate them.
Maybe I'm just so sick of rock star studs, skinny jeans and black blazers that this seems to much more thoughtful but still edgy in a completely different way.
