I want to thank everyone for their lovely comments and express how excited I am to give the blog some updates.

*We are having a bit of a communication break down at the office and I'm trying to resolve all hurt feelings at the moment. Macbook doesn't want to talk to the wireless router, the router doesn't want to talk to the modem and the old desktop is cranky and doesn't want to talk to anyone. Oh, and the battery charger for the camera is apparently so insulted that it wants to remain in hiding.

I think retail therapy is needed for all.

In Her Closet: Forever 21 Peplum Mini Skirt

 

I wanted to take a real life picture of me wearing this Forever 21 skirt, but I can't find the battery charger for my camera. How does one lose something the size of a brick? 

By the time I came across this skirt, the size small was already sold out. The medium gaps a little in the waist, but I'm thankful for the extra inch it may have given me in the length.

I was completely smitten when I saw the nude color, row of black contrasting buttons, and large bow in the back.

I'm very happy with the quality for the price, and I plan on wearing it with black tights in the fall and winter. Oh, and the bow does peek out coquettishly from the sides just like in the picture.

Giveaway: Rodarte Inspired

I have a small collection of items that I couldn't leave behind when I found them while shopping. I have a closet full of shabby vintage items, my own version of the Island of Misfit Toys. I've decided to start giving them away to others that can provide a good home.

After seeing the sneak peek of Rodarte's collaboration with Target coming out in December, I thought the 1920's buttercup yellow dress on the right in the moodboard would make a perfect giveaway.

The dress is an xs size, but I think it may to be to fragile to wear, as there are several rents in the fabric along the shoulders. I haven't washed it, as I don't want to further destroy anything that may be usable.

That being said, it has the sweetest bows and pleats in the skirt, and I know there has to be someone out there that will love it all the more for its history.
