Inspiration: Rustic Rattan Chairs

That lovely shade of mint green inspiring me again. I want this color in my closet and my home!

I think this is another great way to incorporate your shabby chic pieces in a more modern way. Instead of pushing the chairs against a white table, use industrial metal tables paired with warm wood floors. Modern artwork, primitive bowl, and vibrant flowers finish the look. Don't forget the dash of darkness from the cat.

I love that Anthropologie is branching out into more modern silhouettes while still retaining their vintage aesthetic.

Sasha Pivovarova's Artwork

I can't wait to see more of model Sasha Pivovarova's artwork. You can see some of her own features in the cat like eyes set in heart shaped faces. 

The style of drawing brings to mind vintage Vogue magazines from the 20's and 30's:

Emma Watson in TeenVogue

I know, it is too early to be talking about fall, but I wanted to post these pictures before I forgot. I still have many days to drink up the sun, but in the meantime I'll be storing away items and ideas. 

 

You can't see all the detail in this photo but the Max Azria tights are on my want to see list. 

I like vintage fur trim and white dresses to pair with tights when it gets cold.

This last look is my favorite(minus leopard tights), it reminds me...

of this Anna Sui for Target dress that I think is darling.

Sofia Coppola at the age of 22, dating then boyfriend photographer Dewey Nicks. This soft editorial reminds me of her movie, The Virgin Suicides, which wouldn't happen for another five years.

Want of the Day: Anthropologie Soaring Shooties

I'm not crazy about the overzealous topstitching and would prefer a solid wood heel, but I do love the distressed nude color. The name they were given is making me laugh too. Soaring Shooties? Anthropologie, $158

Flashback: Hotel Ritz in Paris

 

This editorial was shot at the Hotel Ritz in Paris, which I didn't realize had suites based on the famous people who have stayed there. The image above was photographed in the Suite Duc de Windsor, which is absolutely beautiful.

Back in the Day Bakery

Thanks to Emerson of An Apple a Day, we stopped at Back in the Day Bakery on our one day tour of Savannah. The bakery was darling but I got so caught up in discussing their wallpaper that I forgot to take a picture of it! 

One of their walls was decorated with vintage paper put up in patches. It reminded me of some the plantations we visited in Charleston, where you could still see spots of their original wallpaper.

The sandwiches, served on vintage trays, didn't last long. Mr. M ordered the Madras Curry Chicken while I ordered the Rosemary Chicken Salad. Both sandwiches had large chunks of savory chicken nestled in chewy fresh baked bread.

We took our cupcakes to Forsyth park so we could eat them by the fountain. As we sat down on a bench and started munching a squirrel crept up towards us. Mr. M had to keep shooing him away and all of  a sudden Mr. M says, "he is next to you." I didn't look because the squirrel had been circling around us the whole time. And then Mr. M says, "no, I mean he is right next to you!"

I jump up and that little guy was apparently getting ready to hijack the cupcake right out of my hands. He then raises his paws and starts begging which starts me giggling and almost choking on the cupcake(which I was not going to give up).

If you get a chance to eat in Savannah, this is where you need to go. The cupcakes are creamy rich perfection and I ate all three pink ones myself.
