In Her Closet: Kate Moss Topshop Summer 2009

I wasn't expecting my Kate Moss Topshop package until Friday, so I was excited to hear a thump against my front door this morning. I'm working on a project right now, so I don't have time to put outfits together, but I did want to post a mini review.

Sequin Cardigan-I own a vintage cardigan that has a similar construction. The cardigan is made out of sweater material(acrylic) with the sequins sewn throughout. It has a cotton lining, so no itch factor. The difference between my vintage one and this one is the fit. The Kate Moss version is nice and slim, so it has a modern feel.

Studded Waistcoat-I wasn't sure if I was going to get this piece, as it was limited edition, and I took so long trying to decide between sizes and paying that much for a cotton vest. 

It is has a nice heft to it, and the beading is so much better than I could have hoped. I thought they were sequins, but they are actual various beads including ones that look like feathers(love). I would describe the color as burnished pewter, not an over the top shine, so perfect for everyday wear.

Flashback: Kate Moss Shopping High Street

 

I stayed up late Wednesday night shopping online at Topshop so I could snag the studded waistcoat and sequin cardigan. I'm still recovering, but I thought this would be a great time to post shots of Kate Moss getting her own High Street shopping on. 

 

This is one of my favorite features on Kate, because I think it was one of the first where she talked about her style. She is only 22 in the article, and discusses dying her hair with spray-in lightener(bad), dating Johnny Depp, and her habit of leaving underwear behind at photo shoots. 

I've wanted those sandals ever since I bought this magazine. Has anyone seen anything like this in the states?

Wasp Nest-Sexy or Not?

 

While we are on the subject of things that attract and repel us at the same time, what do you think of a wasp nest over your bed?  Even though I know it is empty I would always wonder what would crawl out, which I suppose is part of the allure. An item that has harnessed something of power can be sexy.

I once went to a party where the host tried to hit on me by showing me the built in shark tank next to his bed. I think he would have captured my attention more if this nest had been there instead.

What does completely intrigue me is the German educational poster  next to the bed. I've been searching for years for one that I loved and fit in my price range. Any suggestions on where I could find one similar to this one with a black background?

The Wedding Party

How exquisite is Sasha Pivovarova as a bride? The dress is traditional yet modern at the same time and I'm swooning over the veil. The simple bouquet looks so fresh with her dress. It doesn't hurt that Arthur Elgort was the photographer, he always manages to bring an old-fashioned glamour to his shots.

 

 

Here is another variation of a bride that is vintage inspired. 

I love how women used to have a going-away frock, and what could be better than running away with a wreath of roses from your bouquet in your hair?
