Fall Has Arrived

Last night the wind gusted around our little house and this morning leaves were falling from the trees. I guess I'm going to have to finally face the fact that cooler weather is coming. Which means some changes in the wardrobe and most likely a need list to be written(which isn't as fun as a want list).

Though I have a whole wall of closet space I like to hide away things so I'm not completely sick of them when the weather changes. I'm going to pull out all of my sweater coats, long sleeve t's, and tights to see what needs to be replaced or updated. 

I also started pulling out magazine editorials that are inspiring me for  Autumn. Chartreuse, mustard, rust and toffee are colors I'm wanting right now, mixed in with some coral pink, gold, violet and black.

The Beginning of My Fall/Winter Want List

Two inspiration boards that capture the fashion mood I'm in right now. I want Victorian design mixed with modern cuts, sparkle and lots of sooty black.

Lucky Magazine October 2009 Kristen Bell

Lucky Magazine has a great feature this month showcasing real girl style across the globe. Since they listed their names I had to be nosy and snoop around to find out more about them.

Melissa Dixson is a modern day taxidermist in New York. I'm mad about her outfit, the lacy ruffles against black tights. I actually own a vintage version of that belt, but now I see that I need a much larger bow.

Alix Petit, along with Delphine Delefon, designs French label Heimstone. Not only is she wearing one of my favorite color combinations, but is there a collective swoon going on over her bag? 

The Reptile  Biker Jacket is my want of the day.

Alfresco Parties

 

I'm going to be helping plan an outdoor bridal shower and I've been pulling out tear sheets for ideas. I love this party thrown by Waris Ahluwalia and featured in Domino magazine.

The garlands over the chairs are on my list along with sari like fabric.

 

Feminine umbrella over simple benches covered in fabric and tassels. Check, check.

As always I love natural wood combined with shimmering textures.

Inspiration: Rustic Rattan Chairs

That lovely shade of mint green inspiring me again. I want this color in my closet and my home!

I think this is another great way to incorporate your shabby chic pieces in a more modern way. Instead of pushing the chairs against a white table, use industrial metal tables paired with warm wood floors. Modern artwork, primitive bowl, and vibrant flowers finish the look. Don't forget the dash of darkness from the cat.

Deconstructed Shimmer on Kate Moss

I know, I'm obsessed. Some more deconstructed shine that is inspiring me. I'm not sure if I would be brave enough to rock these pants by I would kill for a skirt version.

We will be taking a week off to relax by the beach and drink in the history of Savannah. In the meantime I'll be updating some of our adventures on Twitter. See you beautiful people on Monday, June 22!
