This week has so much promise in it, with the release of Alice in Wonderland and spring waving just around the bend. I thought Anna Sui's home would be a perfect fit, with its storybook closet and myriad collections from which to draw inspiration.
She also had a well received Fall 2010 Collection, which was so definitive of her aesthetic, and showcased how much thought she puts into her designs.
From her Fall 2010 collection. Ah, the cut and trim on the black coat!
This is my favorite part of Anna's home. Inspired by The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, she had silver cupboard doors installed in front of her walk in closet. I don't know why stepping through doors into a closet is magical to me, but it just is. Something about secret passages and tower rooms has always enthralled me.

I don't know if I could live with so many patterns in one room, but individually her choices are fantastic. The mother-of-pearl in laid furniture is amazing.

If you'll notice, she has mirrored furniture like jewelry sprinkled all through her apartment. Most of it was bought in London.
Sharkskin table found by her friend Paul Cavaco. The mirror on the right was found in Venice.
She spotted the tiles by William De Morgan in the Victoria and Albert museum and had them recreated.
The red library, inspired by Diana Vreeland and houses all of her bound Vogue magazines.
Inspired by New York cafe Serendipity, Anna paired a Victorian table with 1960's kitchen chairs.
