Madewell Sisters in Style: Marlien & Coliena Rentmeester

Ah! Adorable twins Marlien and Coliena Reentmeester are on Madewell.com in a Sisters in Style feature. I've kept track of their style for the last couple of years, as seen in these posts about The Lucky Shopping Manual and Lonny Magazine. 

Thanks to Marlien, I might have to give the Madewell Widelegger jeans in Amarillo Wash another glance. Though if the temps this weekend are any indication of what is to come—going over 90 degrees–I will only want to wear the tiniest of breathable fabrics for the next couple of months.

Sweaters Over Dresses

I first talked about wearing sweaters over dresses back in the fall, but it works perfectly for spring weather as well. For proof, look how cute this combination is on Miss Sarah Jessica Parker.

I'm beyond tired of cardigans, and this provides a fresh look for dresses on colder spring days. It works best if the sweater has a loose knit or a cropped fit to keep the feeling light. You can also extend your wardrobe by pairing sweaters with your fancier frocks that seem too precious for everyday wear.

Wishlist: Anthropologie Level 99 High Waist Chambray Trousers

I always like the fit of Level 99 jeans, but they are never long enough for me. Anthropologie is listing this pair as only 25.5" long, but I'm crossing my fingers they might be wrong. They look so soft and drapey, which is a perfect combination for me right now. Anthropologie, $118

Home Style: Claire Lefort of Noro

 

I was able to stop at a real deal magazine stand this weekend, where I scooped up all kinds of delicious reads, one being Milk. They are my favorite when it comes to editorial styling for children, and sometimes there is even a really cool home, like this one featuring Noro shop owner Claire Lefort.

I prefer interiors with lots of natural wood, soft textiles, and room to breathe. Claire's home has that in abundance, along with beautiful lighting in every room. I'm trying to figure out the details of her smoky wood floors. And the super plush bedspreads in the second picture? So luxe against that amazing blue rug.

New Shop: Silent Sundays

So excited to see what Rhiannon does with her new shop, Silent Sundays. If her Liebemarlene Vintage blog is any indication, it will carry coveted brands from New Zealand and Australia. Right now you can find a dreamy mix of vintage fashion along with brands TBA, Family Affairs, and Secret Squirrel.

In Her Closet: Braided Leather

 

 

I've been picturing braided leather pieces with my clothing for the summer, and ran up to the thrift store to see if they had anything that would work. I found two small bags with long enough straps to wear crossbody, along with two belts.

The vintage belt on the right is now one of my favorite things. The distressed black leather is so supple and how great is that buckle?
