It is swimsuit season and I'm sooo ready mentally, if not physically. I want to lay by the ocean for hours and just drift away thinking about nothing but the waves and the wind.
Even though I don't really swim, so the suits I own look nearly new, I still pour over new bathing suits every year.
I try to satisfy my buying urge by poking around the swimsuit aisle in thrift stores looking for vintage suits. I found a Cheryl Tiegs one piece(she had a line with Sears in the early 80's) that is 2 sizes too big, but I'm thinking about using it as a bodysuit, so you won't see the saggy bum. I like how Res Pulchrae used her Thom Maier suit as top, so I'm going to play around with it.
I also found the Swimwear in Vogue magazine while thrifting, and it has great photographs by the likes of Arthur Elgort, Irving Penn and David Bailey.
