So what have I been buying and digging up since the last time we visited my closet? I finally bought two white dresses to pair with black tights, though pretty late in the season. I tried and rejected several, because initially I was after a simple, opaque cotton dress. I'm still on the lookout, but for now these will do.
I found this 1970's dressing gown in the lingerie section of a local vintage store. It came to my ankles but I had a tailor hem it to right at the knee so I could wear it as a dress.
This Forever 21 dress was a recent purchase. It was the last one in the store, and they actually let me have it off the display. I almost fell over! I've been very careful with what I've been buying in retail stores, but I loved that this was lined with silk and the lace actually has cotton in it.
I've been craving a patterned bag and had started searching for ones online. I found some boxes of vintage clothing that hadn't been unpacked from our last move, and guess what I forgot I had! The one on the right is velvet feeling with metallic embroidery and leather trim. I found both of these at thrift stores.
I fell in love with this 1930's quilt when I was in New York city. Soft graphic pastels against a black backdrop? Ah! If you click on the picture for detail you will see strips of fabric with tiny stars! My heart goes floop.
I bought this beaded hair bow at Forever 21 as well.
Just an a solitary shot of a vintage mirror to mix it up;)
Rick Owens Lilies skirt I picked up at Century 21 in New York on mega clearance. I was unsure about a white skirt, but I loved the feel of the cashmere/wool/viscose fabric.
