I have a thing for soft messy updo's, especially if there are escaping tendrils. I think it is a result from being scarred from going to high school dances. Growing up in the midwest, hairdressers gave everyone the same option, a heavily lacquered chignon that made you look 16 going on 60.
Thank goodness times have changed and even in the good old midwest there are cool salon owners that keep up with the times. Rule of thumb: if you go into a salon and all they have to read are those black and white hardback hair style books run for your life.
