I first came across Allison Sarofim's screening room in an old issue of Livingroom magazine. It surfaced again in the April 2006 issue of Domino magazine in which they added some pieces so it resembled an apartment designed by Eileen Gray, an architect and designer in the 20's.
I'm still trying to track down another issue I have of her home, which covers her entire house. Livingroom magazine made it seem as if this was her cute basement apartment, which does make for a better story, but really it is just the basement of her home, and she uses it as a lounge area.
Either way, living in a 70's inspired "white lacquer box" has appeal to me. Shiny white, lucite, and white leather has a level of cool that seems perfect for soirees that last into the night.
A gorgeous goatskin rug
An early peek at her zebra rug that Domino would later drape over her sofa for their shot
Classic design that carries through the all white theme
I love the vintage artwork she owns.
