When I was in Paris I deliberated for hours between the Hermes Collier de Chien cuff and a Balenciaga City bag. It helped that the stores were not that far apart and I could compare and contrast to my hearts content. Unfortunately I couldn't even decide which style of bag or bracelet I wanted, let alone choose between the two.
Did I want the decadent combination of black and gold? The rock and roll cool tones of the black and silver? Giant gold hardware or regular? Wait a minute, is that amethyst color similar to the 2005 magenta? Mr. M said(in the nicest way possible) that he thought the bags looked they were made out of plastic. I do have to say that Balenciaga's new finish on the leather is not my favorite.
I think if the Collier de Chien had come in a nude leather with silver, I may have been completely sold. Instead I decided to pass and think about the decision some more. But now it comes in solid silver. Sigh.
