I picked up my copy of September Lucky last week, but I wanted to post about one of the stylish women they featured inside. Elizabeth Hooks used to work at vintage shop Uncommon Objects before she started doing fashion merchandising for Anthropologie. I think my dream job would be traveling around the world for a company combing markets and shops for inspiration and props.
I want all the vintage pieces she owns, and I'm deeply in love with the lace skirt/slip. Does anyone else immediately start pairing coveted items with things already in their closet, imagining what new terrific outfits you could have?
This feature explores mixing up old favorites with new pieces, which I'm sure those of us without tons of money already do on a regular basis. Not breaking news, but it is always fun though to see things styled, especially if they are vintage.
I worked in retail all through college and have a knack for guessing right on the dollar the prices of items. When I first viewed this Tommy Hilfiger dress my mind immediately registered $348. I was surprised when I saw that it retails for $698. I'm losing my touch! Or designers are losing their minds at pricing? Cute dress but ouch at the sticker shock.
*updated to add that the photographer for this shoot was Rebecca Greenfield. I can't believe I keep forgetting to give kudos to the amazing photographers!
