I've been working non-stop for the last 7 days, and trying to figure out in what direction I'm going. Writing and sharing pictures in this blog has been my way to reach other people who love pretty things. Unfortunately a job that is providing a dream honeymoon is not allowing me to read, let alone post, a blog.
I'm embarrassed to say how many packages have already landed on my new work doorstep. I haven't had time to shop, so the internet has become my "frenemy." I love the convenience of online shopping, but most of the items never come as promised in the beautifully styled photographs. I use my experience to try to guess where they have pinned to make it fit, and how the fabric will let it hang. The biggest problem is sizing, as it is never consistent, even in the same store.
I promised a review of my Kate items when they arrived and I'll keep it short and sweet. As far as quality the Broderie Anglaise dress is similar in quality to Banana Republic or JCrew. The color is a deep navy blue, 100% cotton, and slender leather belt. With the US exchange rate the price is standard with JCrew & Banana Republic also, around $120 for the dress.
I ordered a size up based on the reviews of her past lines running small. Just my luck they are running closer to size and it is sliding off of me. I'm still deciding what I'm going to do with it.
I didn't even bother to try on the daisy dress. It was cut nothing like the dress featured on Kate Moss, and I'm sending it right back. I wanted it to look a certain way, 1940's with a bit of cheekiness, and it doesn't open in the front.
I've managed to pick up a few cute vintage items on a business trip that I hope to post tomorrow.
